Cow brain served to me in a restaurant in Indonesia!
I pride myself on (at least) trying local food when I'm travelling but the sight of a bowl of grey sludge (and the thought of BSE/CJD) were enough for me to forego this particular delicacy.

My boyfriend lives about 2 doors down from a Chinese Takeaway where we order from at least once a week. One night I fancied a change from my usual Chicken Cashew nuts and rice so I ordered Duck & Pancakes.
The duck was all fatty and there was 1 large bone left in the tin to supposedly eat off of and there were also soggy, chewy prawn crackers at the bottom of the tin [in with the duck!]. We had no pancakes included and the thing that looked best was the spring onion and cucumber [which I don't even like]!
My boyfriend took it back and asked for a refund and you know what they did? Took the bone and prawn crackers out of the duck tin and put a plastic bag with 3 pancakes in instead.

My boyfriend once ordered a pizza and just a few minutes after it arrived he got a phone call from the place he ordered it from asking if everything was okay with the pizza, which I've never heard of any pizza place doing... He hadn't started to eat it yet and he just said everything was fine... Then, when he bit into it, he discovered chewed chewing gum melted into the cheese.
Another guy I know bit into a chicken burger in a well known fast food restaurant to have a load of puss squirt out of it... He opened up the burger to find a huge cyst in the burger.

A pizza in a restaurant Place du Tertre, Paris.
The crust was the only place where the dough had actually baked, the cheese had not even vaguely started melting, and on top of it all they had decided to crown the pizza with a raw egg.
It was like it had never been near an oven.
The waiter must have been blind, seriously...

I had a mystery stew in a hotel in Kuala Lumpur once, it was quite nice until I looked at a piece of meat and saw tubes of some desciption coming out of it.....eeeurrrgh.
The worst tasting meal I ever had was at a Chinese Dim Sum place in Australia a few years back, I was being adventurous and thought I'd try jellyfish salad....that was foul. Ironically, I've also had crocodile wontons which were bloody lovely.

The first meal I had when I met my first husbands family. I took a bite of what I thought was mashed potatoes and bit into eggs, onions, and pickles in it. It was meant to be potato salad, it was warm. Also the chicken wasn't done. I found a tack in my cole slaw from Long John Silvers once and they did nothing about it.

The worst place I have ever been to was 'le petit Blanc', Raymond Blanc's Bistro. Disgusting - out of a table of four of us we had to send 3 dishes back to the kitchen. One severely undercooked salmon that came back incredibly salty, and like cardboard - and some indescribably vege pasta. Really foul. The service was **** too. Our waitress was too busy trying to flirt with one of the waiters to get our order right.

The meal was called "Pork Cutlets Chablis" and it was the absolute worst. Pork cutlets breaded and fryed with onions and garlic then doused in White Chablis and cream with flour to thicken. It was horrible. Served with an noodle dish on the side. I took two bites and came down with a "Horrible" headache....

I got dragged into pizza hut once and I do mean dragged. The food was so awful I refused to pay for it, the table was filthy and my partner was throwing her guts up all night afterwards.
