This happened to me just a couple of weeks ago - I had to press the power button about 40 times before it would boot.

It seemed to start booting, but after a few seconds would just shut down again.

In my case, it was a failing power supply - however, as other people have pointed uot, it could be any number of things, as modern pc's will not power up if there is some fault,

That's one reason I use "Standby" so much. It barely uses any power, and comes right back to where I left off without the boot process.

You might also try using the free utility at http://www.iobit.com/advancedwindowscareper.html to see if it can find any Windows issues.

a corrupted hard drive can also do this. the problem can get worse over time, too. I had this happening over the course of about a year until one day the computer wouldn't turn on at all.
The hard drive was corrupted and although they temporarily fixed the problem I was advised by the guys at the shop to get a new one in order to avoid even worse troubles in future.
so get it checked out maybe?

the reason you ought to't hit upon any tutorials, or installation instructions, for installation OS X on a dwelling house domicile windows notebook is trouble-free: Apple's OS X EULA prohibits it from being put in on any notebook different than an Apple notebook. to objective this, in any way, is against the regulation, which includes all flavours of "Hackintosh" and their printed "Hacks". TIP: in case you %. to run dwelling house domicile windows and OS X, on an identical notebook, legally, purchase a Mac.

I've come across this problem heaps it's either the power supply or the capacitors on the motherboard that are on their way out.

Check the site below so you know what to look for.
