Somebody from Kenya once told me that Kenya is heaven on earth.
I would like to know how much does land cost in Kenya and in other places in Africa. I would like a place with rich vegetation an hour or two away from a city by jeep. No highways please.

If there is no running water but I can pump out good clean water that's fine.

With around 3500 pounds you can find a good piece of land in Kenya. Natural water, and in proximity of a national park, like Mt. Kenya! Watch a herd of elephants with like 400 elephants flocked together!
Its fun.

Some of the properties are away from the hustle and bustle of the city, so yup, no highways. All the best with that

Oh, and not everyone in Kenya wants to move to england...

Wow, I too have the same dream of living close to a wildlife preserve. I am thinking of taking a sabbatical from my current job and working in kenya/tanzania for sometime. But I would first try out by living there for may be 3 to 6 months and then make the desicion.
