what's the easyist way to get a very rusted car bolt off?

get a can of PB Blaster and let it soak it for a while. Sounds weird but turning the bolt clockwise will sometimes free it up.

I pity the poor fool Mr T used to say. Good answers rust penetrant works but for those nuts over exhaust studs that are no longer 14mm kind of rusted down to 12mm "squeekers" in hard places like between exhaust manifolds or down pipes you have to take off to remove the transmission you can save time by breaking out the cutting torch. Burn off the nuts and studs and repair them on the ground or bench while waiting for the trans to get there or flywheel to be resurfaced.

remove rust and dirt if you can reach them, spray with wd40 or any good quality spray or oil. Let set, work the nut/bolt back and forth slowly until it is removed. Good luck

Spray the area with WD40 or silicone spray. Leave it for 10 minutes, then try.
