Switch on the 'Num lock' and press and HOLD the 'Alt' key,
now type 236 on the num-lock keypad.
Release 'Alt' key = Infinity symbol '∞'

It can also be found in the Microsoft 'Character Map'.
This is accessed by going to 'Start' on the desktop.
Select 'All Programs'
Select 'Accessories' (from here you can get the 'Calculator'.
Select 'System Tools'
Select 'Character Map'
It will appear on the desktop.
Select the character you want, and click 'copy'.
Paste it into the document where it's required.

Short-cuts can be placed on the desktop for easy access if required.
(I have the Calculator and the Character Map available on my desktop at all times).
