Could not get through this morning on the phone lines, tried for about 30 minutes, my guess is they are being inundated with calls.
These Senators have to know the will of the people and if they fail in representing us on this important issue they should not be allowed to remain in office.
Not certain about recall elections but they can be expelled, and in 2008 all who have voted for this regardless of party should be voted out.
I sent all emails stating the same, one has responded and said he will be voting NO, the other who is a sponsor has not responded.
I have also moved on to the House, and I think it wise that we all do the same, let the House know now that we will not stand for Congress going against the will of the people on this issue. It would be one thing if the polls showed only 50% against it, but polls are running from 84% to 93% who want this amnesty bill to just go away for good.
Tell you senator now, if you vote for this you will not get our votes again. Tell your representative in the House where you stand, yell and scream, they are to represent the majority of AMericans and we are against this bill

I am not against the bill in total. I did send Sen Lugar an email asking that we compromise to settle the issue.
I do think that we need to do something about the illegal immigrants. We need to strengthen the reviews made at the time of hire. We need to strengthen the process of driver's licenses and social security cards. We need to review the methods of sending money home to Mexico. But we also need to do something with the large amount of immigrants that are here now and some that are settled into communities and still afraid each day that they are found out. They need to have a chance to become citizens. What I had suggested is a temporary visa for all illegal immigrants. They would then have to pay taxes, get approvals, act legal. Then open up an amount of green gards specifically for them. Those that apply would be considered based upon their history here. There are compromises out there that would allow some degree of what everyone wants. As long as we do it without the anger that I see in many responses.

Being from New Jersey It is hard to call as the reps from my home state are ALWAYS a bunch of super Liberals! They are not taking any Anti Immigration calls! Typical for NJ the Only state to vote against Lincoln Both times! the Home of Jim Mcgreedy and the Corzine racer! No wonder the Sopranos were from NJ but they are nothing compared to the NJ government!

No because no matter how many people contact Kennedy and Kerry they will still vote for it but I am against it,what time is the vote today? By the way this isn't the official vote today if the bill is"passed" today it will be voted on officially on Friday I believe but if voted down today they will most likely take it off the floor.

Yes, I have. Many times I have. Do you think that our Senators and Representatives are even listening to the outcry over this bill? They will, as usual, vote the way they want but this is one bill that will define who I vote for next election. I don't care if they are the best person we have ever sent to Washington, if they vote for this bill I will not vote for them and will do my level best to get them out of office.

I have both in the Senate and the HR. I NEVER GOT A REPLY FROM ANY I CONTACTED AND I CONTACTED ALL OF THE SENATORS AND HR'S FOR THE USA! Those that I vote for will not get my vote next election - I don't care who they are or what party they are representing. They have chosen to turn a deaf ear to this public outcry!

the seniors senators want this bill to get more voters to their party
and dont mind voting yes because
"they are the great and powerful senators"
but the junior senators know who put them there
and tehy can be swayed with calls and emails
that is why the vote failed
but that is also y the bill is still alive when most of the american people do not support this

Yes, repeatedly. I fear that all the representatives are like Lott- they do not want to hear what the people say. It really amazes me that people like Lott seem to forget who they really work for and who put them in office - the voters. The only recourse we have if the bill does indeed pass, is to use our power of vote and put these types of politicians out of office.

Unfortunately, two of my representatives are hispanics that support open borders. Salazar brothers from Colorado are demon democrats.
