Utter failure? Don't you mean George Bush? The House and Senate are now controlled by Democrats because most of America wants change. Bush has screwed up for almost 8 years and you're judging people that have been in office since January as utter failures. Give me a break.

This Congress is a clear depiction of what is to come if a democrat is elected to the presidency. History has shown and prooven this many times over. It has always been a republican president who had to fight through a democrat controlled Congress to fix the screwups of the previous democrat administrations.
And for those who think it is too early to tell how this Congress is doing, please remember that it was the Speaker who provided her 100 hours of things to get accomplished. Not one of th em has been done yet.
Additional notes: For all those who keep saying that Congress has only been in office since January, wasn't it you libs who kept saying that Bush was in office for 6 months and he hasn't done anything except destroy the economy with tax cuts? Bush had already implemented a major portion of his campaign platform. So what did the liberal democrats run on? Oh yea, bringing the troops home and repeeling the Bush tax cuts. Are those things done yets?

I can see your point but I don't agree entirely. The Democrats are not really unified in anything but opposing the republicans. That makes them very inefficient but not a great threat to our freedoms or lives. They usually can't even agree that the sun is up much less our policy. The republicans on the other hand have proven they can work as a unit with a president. Thats much more efficient but a much greater threat to us. Heres an example. bankruptcy legislation. the laws now in effect make bankruptcy relief nearly unattainable for lower income people who need it most often. That was attempted for years before Bush. He got it passed with very little discussion over night. The democrats wouldn't have agreed to that but republicans voted for what they were told to and they didn't argue with the president. Congress is supposed to argue with the president. thats called checks and balances. If congress just does as they are told then we don't even have a republic much less a democracy.
So long as democrats are in charge they will argue with each other and back stab each other till the end of time. It doesn't matter who is president. If republicans have congress then pray to what ever god you follow that we have a democrat for president or you will see your rights and freedoms erode away.
I much prefer a confused inefficient government over one that efficiently strips me of my rights.

For goodness sake give them a break!
They've only been in office since January.
Are they expected to fix this utter failure left by this Republican right wing Administration led by George W. Bush and Dick Cheney and supported by Republicans like McCain and Senator Warner?
How do you correct the greatest military blunder in the history of the world?
Republicans say mistakes were made? Are they kidding?
A mistake is too much salt in the soup! Too much honey in the tea!
This is a colossal military and strategic disaster and many thousands of people have died, are dying and will die because of the Republican led Administration.
Foreign policy under Condi Rice is a sham! She can't help but prattle about things that happened in WW 11. I'm not sure that she's all there!
Thanks

I doubt it. I'm no fan of the democrats but my guess, America will see this as republicans blocking the democrats from getting us out of Iraq. I predict more lost seats in congress for the GOP, and the White House. I would suggest to you my friend that your rigid manner of thinking needs an overhaul.

No, it's too early to declare the 110th Congress a disaster. They are only 1/4 of their way through their term. The direction that the presidency takes depends on who is elected and how strenuously the opposition party opposes his or her policies and initiatives. So, it's really too early to tell anything about what would happen with a democrat in the white house..

Yes the Dems hold a majority in the House but not a veto proof majority, And actually the Reps still hold a one seat majority in the Senate. So the utter failure you describe falls as much, in not more, on the Rep controlled Senate and the veto power of Bush in the House as it does on the Dems as a whole.

Combine their failure with Bush's failure and what you get is a strong motivation to vote for independent Mike Bloomberg.
