Yes! Unfortunately, war is commerce. Here is an example that best illustrates human designs concerning space. This quote was given by none other than the "master of infinity" himself--Lyndon Baines Johnson at the Senate Democratic Caucus of January 7, 1958:
"Control of space means control of the world.... From space the masters of infinity would have the power to control the Earth's weather, to cause drought and flood, to change the tides and raise the levels of the sea, to divert the gulf stream and change the climates to frigid.
There is something more important than the ultimate weapon. That is the ultimate position --- the position of total control over Earth that lies somewhere in outer space.... And if there is an ultimate position then our national goal and the goal of all free men must be to win and hold that position."
Free men?! As we speak our tax dollars are being appropriated for a new control of enslaved people. This is called "Full Spectrum Dominance." There is nothing free about this next space battle. Some future?!

One would think that the whole idea of flying in space is to go somewhere. The reasons? Research, re locate, get things you need. When it comes down to it, with all the room out there, with all the resources available and places available, hardly a reason to fight. For those that research, even less of a reason to fight. More of a reason to get together and study, or trade. What a great thing, interplanetary trade and cultural exchange. Our society is based on commerce but that may be an exception, and because we are aggressive (a necessity from our eat or be eaten development) we worry about war and fight and struggle, and again this may be an exception. We may be of interest to another merely because of our fighting and war and "eat or be eaten" world, and the fact that we have a system of economy (this may only be "ours" alone).
There is other life out there surely, we won't be alone. But aggression is a thing probably only in OUR culture and may not be a universal concept, but it being in our very genes and the genes of all things on a planet that has a hierarchy, a food chain, makes it stay in our minds and makes us have concerns that those out there want to eat us (primal fear).

The idea of humans fighting each other in spacebattles is so stupid it... is absolutely unavoidable. It´s just human nature. Even with all the worlds and all the resources in spcae humanitys territoralism will cause conflict even there. China is going to the moon. The US is going back there. India has high ambitions and Japan would love to go there. With all this rivalry in the same place there are bound to be conflicts. I don´t want to think about what an actual battle would look like though.

Possibly and whatever they look like, it will be far from the pretty SF movies. War is ugly though sometimes it may be needed.
