I paid £150 security deposit on my 12month contract phone with THREE MOBILE , i paid each and every phone bill on time and the contract ended in april (thankfully!). "months later despite numberous call to them, they have not returned my £150 despite assuring me i would receive a cheque within 28days. How do i get this back? Am i entitled to compensation/ interest on the sum? How do i report them to the industry watchdog?

Write to them, sending Recorded Delivery, informing them that they have 14 days to settle the Debt they owe to you, otherwise you will start legal proceedings.

If you don't get a response, after 14 days go to Small Claims court and issue a Summons against them (include reasonable costs for your time and 8% interest on the Deposit for the time they have had it and don't forget to reclaim the Court fee = should only be about £38).

If they ignore it the Court will automatically record judgement in your favour - if they still won't pay you ask the Court to send in the Bailiffs (since they admit the debt but have not paid it, you could even apply to make them Bankrupt !)

The b*srards are quick enough to cut you off and blight your credit if you fail to pay THEM on time = so there is no reason for you to be 'nice' about it (since when did they allow YOU to pay THEM with a 28 day delay ?)

Of course you're entitled to it back! Not sure about compensation though. Give them a few more calls, get the names of the people who you deal with and ask to speak to their supervisor. Don't get too arsey with them cause they won't be quite so helpful! Write a letter naming everyone who said "Cheque's in the post", send evidence of you giving them a security deposit and see what happens. Just double check your Terms and Conditions in case of something you've missed, you don't wanna look stupid!

Why not look on the bbc website for Watchdog? Now that would cause a fuss...

get a solicitor to draft a letter for you. they will have to pay both your solicitors fee and what they owe you.
