Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of hip-hop music, but I think that the self-destructive behaviors that are glorified in the songs, movies, videos, ect. ect. Have gotten a little out of hand.

What exactly did you mean by self-destructive?

To me, I don't see any of the culture growing up until the people buying the music do. People just continue buying into all of this, so I suppose the lower quality of Hip-Hop doesn't seem to matter to most people. They'll still buy the CDs and listen to the radio on a daily basis.

For the most part, rap is pretty much commericalized. All record companies are concerned with is where to make their next dollar. Catchy tunes are slowly becoming the face of Hip-Hop, which is completely ridiculous, as there are some talented lyricist still in the game. You see, all you hear on the radio or tv will be the catchier songs because that's what people wnat to hear. And if there are a lot that don't want to listen to those songs, then speak up and tell them what you want played on the radio. Don't go blasting Hip-Hop as if its a negative thing just because you do a crappy job of finding decent artists to listen to.

As for the videos, there's no one forcing those women into getting casted for those videos. They WANT the exposure, why the hell do you think they try to get in videos? Its just their method of moving up in the entertainment industry. Personally, I believe that they could be doing something else in their lives that doesn't involve what they do in rap videos. But its their choice to do so, and until they get the picture that they shouldn't be in those videos, it's likely to continue. If this music was as degrading as all people make it out to be, there wouldn't be just as many females as males listening to the music and buying the CDs. So it makes me wonder if the whole degradation issue is on a smaller level than people assumed.

A lot of the artists grew up poor, therefore, I can kind of see why they would flaunt their money. That aspect is kind of natural, because when people come into getting a lot more money, they'll spend it on expensive things. I guess they'll handle their funds at their own discretion.

Mo: So many of these artists are young kids that aren't even 25. Many of them grew up without fathers to teach them how to be men. So let these guys grow up, keeping in mind that they are young people as well. I'm sure as hell you're no better than anyone else.

Lana: Rap is not new. Its been out for quite some time now. Its not like it just came out in the 90s.

Hip-hop is new. Its only a Teenager right now. It has yet to develop its self into what it could potentialy Become. I belive that the heart of poets beat in the chest of many of the Hip-heart artists, but its their lust for Green that gets them into the childish songs, and Catchy Tunes. There are few Artists out there Strictly Poet, heres 4 and 1 Potential.

Singing is something that everybody can learn and improve. Of course, some are more naturally skilled than others, but even a poor voice can be overcome by dedication, practice, and more practice. Even if you're content to sing in the shower, there are some things you can do to improve your voice. This is probably the best online course to improve your singing skills https://tr.im/jaSVf

No. And I hope it doesn't the youthfulness responsible for the innovation in hip hop comes with immaturity. I don't think the advances in music and culture should be thrown out because the people responsible for the content are immature.

Yeah I agree, but it most likely wont happen. Rappers are too into themself and by buying their music and making them richer they're just gonna be more intothemself. But I still like hip hop, <3 it auctually.

rae rae you are incorrect hip-hop is not new, hip-hop been around for years please brush up on your history on the founder Afrika Bambaataa before you call it new. rap is new and will probly fade out hip-hop will live on forever however people are starting to make a mockery out of the culture and hip-hop lifestyle making it difficult.

Hip Hop songs and lyrics are BASED ON THEM BEING PRODUCTS OF THEIR ENVIRONMENT!!!!!

Why r they refering to women as hoes??? Cuz the chics they deal with ARE HOES - -not every black woman -- but they ones they've been with, slept with, gotten BJ's from, had one night stands with, popped out a few illegitimate kids with, smoked / sniffed / shot up with -- that's what they are rapping about.

The violence they refer to -- its IN THEIR OWN HOMES, NEIGHBORHOODS, SCHOOLS, etc. They have to protect themselves from the minute they are born -- they can be shot at anytime, they are TRYING TO SURVIVE!!! For the ones that make it out (like me) without rapping or a sports contract -- it is a one in a million chance -- you have to have SUPPORT / HELP / POSITIVE INFLUENCES to help u to never give up and continue on the right path. That's hard to give to people with no hope and generations of despair.

Do they have responsiblity in this??? HELL YEAH -- but that comes with education and maturity and TRUE LEADERSHIP. WE HAVE TO BREAK THE CYCLE. STOP BLAMING HIP HOP!!! We have a govt that CHOOSES TO HELP EVERYBODY ELSE BUT THEIR OWN BLACK FOLK!!! We can go to Iraq, Africa,Vietnam, etc. but what about HERE????? Didn't Hurricane Katrina expose THE TRUTH about how we hide the poor and act like they are invisible?? CLEAN UP THE GHETTO ENVIRONMENT -- give them nothing to rap about!!

STOP COMPLAINING -- BE PART OF THE SOLUTION!!

No, because they can sell it to the teeny boopers, and it seems like the new artists are getting younger and younger.

One day I broke the zipper in my pants and had to fart so bad...I messed myself ...that thing hurt too. But I didn't even cry. Afterwards my mom made me a fried bologna sandwich and played a game of duck duck goose with me.
