Can't be a power problem as it's going on. And even if it was a power problem it would be the main power pack that is dodgy usually a capasitor problem try a different power supply to see if this rectifies it. if not try re-installing you system...Let me know how you get on mate you can e: mail me from my profile.....

Hi,
From the little you say about your problem, I only can say..
If you have to switch-on your pc 5 or 6 times before it will startup you likely have a problem with the power-supply
The power-supply will not startup.
But if you can startup your pc but during the startup-fase is get stuck, hanging or displays an error on the screen...most likely the motherboard is bad.
Another possiblity could be that your harddisk is not starting, you will see the normal bios messages, but when windows should start, your pc is giving an error stating it can not boot or find any disk to boot from..
Sometimes the harddisk is not releasing his breaks and fails to startup, after several times it will release the breaks an the disk startup as normal...
if this is all not the case, please describe your problem in more detail..
-R.

not enough info. usually when ive got a start up problem i reduce the pc down to a vid card memory and monitor disconnecting drives, etc. then reconnecting things one by one hoping to find a hardware culprit. if not then you probably need to reinstall windows. good luck.

While the info you provided is a bit sparse, I would suspect the power supply - I had a similar problem, and a new power supply corrected it.

What you mean you start your 5 to 6 times - you mean that you switch on/off that many times. Please elaborate on your problem.
