I can dislocate very easily and in the last 2 months i have dislocated both my knees and my thumb, also in the last year i have fractured my hand, wrist, foot and ankle.A few times i have fractured and dislocated at the same time and when doing this all i feel is pain and i would like to know what is causing most of the pain, the dislocation or the fracture. If you know because you are either a doctor or have had similare experiences could you please tell me as i would really like to know!

i think it would be very dependent on where both the fracture and dislocation occur. and what other structures are damaged in the process. fractures can damage a lot of the surrounding soft tissue and pierce the skin (compound fracture). a dislocation would also hurt a very large amount as well and soft tissue - ligaments, tendons and muscles are stretched and torn.

as far as which causes more pain when you have both at the same time it doesn't really work like that. the brain prioritises new signals over repeating ones - thats why staying still can help. also holding someones hand/rubbing it can reduce pain. the new signals can, to use a cliché, drown out the signals of pain.

distraction itself is a very powerful analgesic as the brain filters more pain signals out. morphine also instructs the brain to filter more aggressively.

hope this answers your query

Well I dislocated three toes and it was horrible.

And snapped off the bottom three inches of my left leg, both bones, and no pain at all until I woke up after surgery. The healing process was very painful. Three months in a wheel chair and another six weeks on crutches.

Leave the slings on for now. The major function of the fractures is in which they happened at the radial head. From the sound of it they didn't arise at the articulating floor, that's essential for the wellbeing of the joint. If you suffered the fractures inside the final 2 days they maybe looking ahead to the instant put up-worrying swelling to cut down earlier than determining what direction to take. If the fractures had been greater than "sensible" non-difficult ones they might have long past to bigger lengths to immobilize your elbows than striking you in a sling.
