A friend of mine (used 2like me 4 yrs ago) asked me2 go with him to an event "as a friend",his ex was also there (i think they still have strong feelings4each other)- although that guy&i can talk4ages on msn, in that event we barely said more than a few words2each other.I felt like an idiot around them (mainly cuz theyve got a lot of chemistry still-i spoke much more2the ex. but i really did feel odd and like a third wheel). What shld i do? I don't think its fair that he treat me that way cuz when he asked me2go with him, I told him that i'm accepting cuz he couldnt think of any1 else2ask&if he decides he wants to go with her again he should give her my tickt(he asked her 1st bt they were on really bad terms that time so they decided against it)-she turned up anyway(he didnt tell me til last min.)&i think he shouldve done more effort in talking 2 me esp. since he was the one that 'invited' me.I hated how i felt&am thinking of not seeing him again cuz i feel like im being used2 replace.

You are being used, but you knew that (he only asked you cause there was no one else) Do not do things for people just to help them out. It was his problem that no wanted to go with him (gee I wonder why) Everything would have turned out just fine without you, he would have been there alone and so would his ex. See you don't have to be the social worker of the world.

I don't think he used you. What I can figure out is, he considers you as a friend, nothing more than that. He loves her girlfriend and he don't want to loose her because of you. Still he invited you and hasn't tried to hide his relationship with other woman from you. I think he can be your good friend.

I would suggest to accept the reality that he is not looking for love kind of relationship with you and look for happy friendly relationship.

Relations takes too long time to develop. You should not loose them on small causes :)

Best luck.

Wow how embarressing. You should call him out on it and tell him how awkward that was for you and you are not okay with it. He should've made more of an effort to keep you company since you did go to the event with him. That was purty rude of him. I would not communicate with him after you've given him a piece of your mind.

i think he had it all planned. he knew she would be there. he was trying to make her jealous. an in the end you were the one feeling like the fool for being left out.....if I were you, i would move on and find someone new. He was only using you to get make his ex jealous... i am sorry, I hope you feel better and find someone knew ok...

Next time he asked you, tell him that you would, but you can't because you felt awkward the last time when he did not even speak to you.
