I have a joke that may answer your question.
At the airport Pres. Bush saw a bearded man with a white robe whom he believed was Moses. He approached the man and said "Hei, Mosey, I know you". The man turned away and refused to say a word. Bush went on but the man continued to ignore him.
Perturbed, he sent his SS agent to ask whether the bearded man was Moses. The agent approached the man and asked "Are you Moses?". The President of USA wants to know. Moses replied "Yes, I am". The agent asked "Why did you not say so when Mr Bush asked you several times". Moses replied, "The last time I spoke to a bush, I spent 40 years wandering in the desert , I am not chancing it again"

For one thing his approval rating has been less than 30% for over a year. Some senators began distancing themselves from him in their races for re-election because they didn't agree with his policies in Iraq & more & more Americans disagree also. They don't want to lose the votes of the majority of Americans. Just this week, the senior Republican senator has made the stmt that Bush's policies in Iraq aren't working & that we should pull out.
Many republican senators disagree with the president as they always have on many issues but have stood by him anyway. Until Iraq.
I have friends who are Republicans who think little of this president who has shown himself to be very ineffective.

I think mostly because of the imigration thing. Although I still support him on everything else. I have a question for you ok? Why are democrats starting to distance themselves from a democrat run congress? I mean the latest polls show that they are 12 points lower then Bush's poll numbers. I have said for years that no matter who is in power the bigger we let government become the more inept it will be. And it sure is proving me right.

He is a lame duck, he can't run and no one in his administration is. They make the mistake of distancing them selves on the wrong issues. They are starting to realize that as they are forced to find out what the voters really think when they need us to give them power.
