Wellington and Auckland are the only two cities in New Zealand, the rest are small towns. However, I can give you the name of the major towns, Hamilton, Tauranga, Gisborne, Napier, New Plymouth, Palmerston North, Greymouth, Christchurch, Dunedin, Invercargill.
I have never been to New Zealand before but heard from friends who have visited there that the landscape and weather is almost similar to England. Hope I have the money to visit there someday. For the moment, I am stuck at the office in a gloomy and wet London.

It depends on your definition of city.... is it population based?

I live in Auckland - which is a city but is made up of smaller 'cities' with their own city councils.... i.e. Waitakere City, Manukau City and Auckland City. Wellington and Christchurch are other cities... Hamilton, Dunedin, Whangarei etc are towns rather than cities (Sorry folks but you know it's true) On a funnier note - We Aucklanders refer to "going into town" instead of into the city - and the bus route is to "downtown" not city centre!!!
