I have a really old, ugly, low one that I inherited from my aunt. I've used it for years as a step stool, because it's really solid and a nice size for that. I also have a beautiful cutting board that my son made for me when he was in shop class many years ago, but is too heavy to move around, too pretty to use. Recently I had a brain storm, refinished and reupholstered the stool, put the cutting board on top. Now it doubles as a small coffee table, and even as extra seating on occasion. My dear old aunt would be so proud, because she never found a really good decpratove use for it either.

Its a cushion for kneeling on, generally found in churches.
