If both are based on Dual cores, why is there a huge difference of price between the two desspite having the same cache and CPU speed?

Isn't core 2 duo 64 bit?

The Core 2 Duo is a second generation chip, giving about 25% better performance, and better heat/power ratings.

Aside from having EMT64 Instruction. It also have more floating point processing unit (FPU), and also have more arithmetic logic unit (ALU) from 2 to 3. and also have more complex pipelining stages.
