I've been considering this for a while now, and I've finally decided to go ahead and get it done. You only live once, right? I've been looking it up and such, but I've got three questions for you guys.

1. What are the chances of migration and/or rejection? I know it's different for each person, I just want to know roughly what the chances are.

2. How long would I need to wait before I can wear any kind of decoration on the barbells, like shields, etc.? I know it'd be silly to do it soon after, I'm just curious.

3. Can you choose between the barbell and the ring for the initial jewlery? I'd rather not have the suckers catch on anything with rings.

Please, no comments about how ugly you think it is or how you think I shouldn't do it. I think they're beautiful, and I'm not about to change my mind because of your opinion. :P

I've had mine pierced for about 11 years and
1) I never had any problems with migration and/or rejection.
2) I think it would depend on the decoration that you want. Nothing to heavy.
3) I have rings. They have never caught on anything and it's just your preference as to what you'd like to wear. Also, sometimes your piercer will recommend what's best depending on the size of your nipples.

It does hurt like hell to have it done, but you're right. It is beautiful. Also, depending on the person, they may bleed after piercing so you might want to get something like bra shields (like for nursing mothers) to protect your bra. Definitely invest in the sea salt for soaks, they're very soothing. And yes, should the situation arise, you CAN breast feed with them but I wouldn't. The beads could come off and choke baby. And NO they don't heal up super fast if you ever had to take them out for some reason after the initial healing time. I had to take mine out for about 6 months of my second pregnancy. Good Luck

Yes I've had mine pierced 5 times, I have 2 double piercings in each nipple plus one time i had to get one re-done so to answer you questions...

1) I have 2 piercings in each nipple and haven't had any rejection So you'll be fine..

2)You can probably change jewelry after about 6-8 weeks.

3)Yes you can choose if you want a barbell or a ring, I chose the barbells and have never had rings..

And just a tip Make sure to take deep breaths
close your eyes and Go for it, Good Luck ♥

1. I don't think theres a high chance of rejection.

2. That depends on you. I've had mine for about 7mths and its alright to have stuff on it, just not too heavy.

3. As far as I know most people just pierce it with the barbell. (Rings are a little painful!)

Good luck. It hurts like hell!!

1. chances are slim... but it depends on your body's reaction to metals in general.

2. if you're talking about changing out the original ring/barbell for a shield, then you should wait about 3 months... but, if you just want to add a shield to the original barbell without taking it out... you can do that whenever you want.

3. you can get either... the reason some people prefer to get rings is because it's easier to keep clean while it's healing... but, if you're careful, it doesn't really matter.

I am not going to tell you how ugly it is etc., I just want you to ask yourself why you would put yourself in pain, and in risk of causing damage to a sensitive part of your body. Your question shows that you have some concerns. So, why not take the safe way and not do it? Breasts are a very sensitive part of the human body, if we just think of tumors and potential breastfeeding. generations have past so that practices like this that subject women to pain, in order to diminish their status of sovereignty, should not be necessary, like they were or are in some uncivilised tribes. Why do you want to put yourself beneath your human rights, sister?
