"One of the most beautiful women in the world?"?

Question

This was the term used to describe Angelina Jolie. (see http://observer.guardian.co.uk/world/story/0,,2109952,00.html )

But my question is a wider one... why does the media think that that beauty can only be found in a certain colour skin or certain features?? The WORLD is a big place and besides doesn't it come in many colours, shapes and forms???

I'd like your thoughtful opinions on this one...

I am not sure it is the media that thinks that, they just report on those celebrities that fans want to see. YES, I agree that the world is a big place and I actually think she is very UNattractive. Yes, it comes in many forms as you said but only the ones in the public eye constantly are able to be judged. Beauty is, has always been and will always be, in the eye of the beholder. For example, most don't see why I think she is so unattractive. I just see protruding eyes with bags under them on a scowling face. Others see "one of the most beautiful women in the world" No matter ones opinion, if they have not beholden all of the women of the world, how do they know she, or anyone is one of the most beautiful?

Studies have been done worldwide to determine what is meant by beauty. It seems that all men prefer a certain body type for women (worldwide) skin color doesn't count. Also a certain symmetry of facial features is considered more beautiful. It is kind of sad when one thinks about it. So I don't think about it. There are always exceptions. ( someone for everyone, or, beauty is in the eye of the beholder )

angie? beautiful? i guess there is something nice about her. but she's kinda plastic. i mean, she had a lip job and i think a breast job...who knows what else? i think the most beautiful women are the ones who are themselves pretty. not who try to immitate beauty and fit a certain type.
and that's just Hollywood fooling around.
many people read everywhere that a blonde woman with blue eyes and a big bust is considered beautiful.but i don't think that is true. of course maybe there are a bunch of pretty blonde women, but there are even some other which are even prettier.
don't listen to that media! there are many women in the world who are not discovered. some even live in villages. no one knows about them. of course it depends on the person. people have different tastes in others

Sure. But why do you say the media think beauty comes in one colour? Think of Naomi Campbell and Claudia Schiffer! Totally different coloured top models! Also if we take beauty moree widely, take a lion and a black panther, or a grey kitty, or a polar bear, or a multi-colored parrot or a butterfly, or a wonderful flower. I think the beuty of colours is acknowledged!

Bismillah, all and sundry desires to pass the heavens yet no person desires to die. all and sundry desires to pass to the heavens yet least pushed to artwork it as much as qualify for the heavens. Qur'an does not specify the quantity / sort of "Hoor el Aaeen" one shall get. we've been informed approximately "organic friends". could be you're "Hoor el Aaeen" on your husband. :) could be you rework into "Hoor el Aaeen". :) Allah is conscious the main suitable. :) on the day of judgment we are able to be resurrected in a clean physique resembling this worldly physique we now have. If one will face torments of hell bodily then why don't you take exhilaration in the appropriate exhilaration & bliss of Jannah bodily. Qur'an of course says "There no person will spit nor defecate" element to word that's, Allah has used the be conscious Hoor el Aaeen for adult males and for women human beings be conscious "Azwaj -ul- Mutatahareen" "organic friends". Allah in no way informed us in Qur'an that the life in hereafter would be a non secular life. If the life in hereafter is non secular, then actual resurrection on the day of judgment does not serve any objective, why resurrection in a clean physique why to no longer punish or reward spiritually. :)

beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. more viewers tend to think beauty as being associated with looks, like with sex appeal, and therefore, someone like angelina jolie would fit in that category for many people

i totally agree , beauty i think is not only about being a celebrity and having a perfect face or body. normal people like you and me possess qualities and certain looks that people find beautiful. i think beautiful people are all around us if we look closely and don't judge and be prejudice.

true, she is stunning but there are many unfamous people around living ordinary lifes that are beautiful its just because she's famous and has a famous dad , in saying that i wouldn't mind being her , if only for a night (brad pitt)

I think shes a bit unpredictable and not quite sure what she wants, she is collecting ethnic babies like Paris Hilton collects pooches. where it will all end up nobody knows.
