I am so disgusted with the lapdog press in the USA. Why are they following her car home from jail? Why can't they leave this stupid thing alone? We have so many things going unreported that should be: like wars, AIDS deaths, genocide, etc. Am I alone in thinking that this is just ridiculous?

This is not only ridiculous, it is obscenely/disgustingly ridiculous. I agree with you 100%. There are so many many more "real" problems in today's society yet the media is always on stories like this in a heart beat. Conversely, the public is also to blame in that when things like this happen to celebraties, they want all the juicy tidbits they can get just because they are who they are. Both the public and the media feed off each other. The more the public wants, the more the media give it to them. The more the media reports, the public want even more.

I don't care to hear about Paris' problems in jail every time I put then news on. Why must the media go over and over and over the same thing ad nauseum?? Yet, for the more human issues out there , there are times when Paris stories take centre stage (like the Anna Nicole story) and that is tragic.

Paris Hilton should have been treated just like anyone else who had broken the law from the get go. If you or I had had her charges, we wouldn't have gotten any kind of special treatment.

There are wild fires doing great damage right now, a pregnant mom and unborn child murdered, a WWF wrestler, his wife and son now found murdered but you can bet your bottom dollar that Paris will be all the talk when she gets out and that is just a crying shame.

What has happened to us as a society? Maybe if people stopped feeding off the Paris stories and took a hard look at the real issues of daily life, differences could be made.

We're still in a war, the economy is in the toilet, more job layoffs, country is in massive debt, and Paris is the one amusing dumb-*** distraction we need right now, albeit some worthy contenders...

Be safe and sound back home.
Than to live with all the misery out there.
Without any solution to solve the mess on what went wrong out there.
