This is no contest. The best actor in Auz is John Howard by a land slide. I watch that bloke lie to the country with a straight face on ABC every single night.

Mel Gibson (more well known and has made a lot more money) or Heath Ledger (A better actor and very gifted much younger actor, but not as well know, other than his role that he received a nomination for in "Brokeback Mountain".
Can't agree with Russell Crowe. Older, many films, but few good roles to his credit. Sad that he is much more well known for his antics a being an adulteror with Meg Ryan or his temper, which a hotel person finally decided to pursue charges against him after he threw a phone at the employee and hit the employee in the head.
