Actually, I have heard of Macedonia. Alexander the Great and his father Philip hailed from Macedonia in ancient times.

As for the book, my family has had some questions pertaining to Dumbledore's death. On is if he's really dead or if he and Snape cooked something up whereby he's actually in a state of suspended animation. And folks don't please mention to me that he must be because he fell from the top of the astronomy tower. Rowling has mentioned in "Chamber of Secrets" that wizards and witches can survive a fall that would kill a muggle. So I'd think it would be possible for Dumbledore to have survived but be in critical condition, though some kind of spell might have protected him even more so. Plus wasn't a part of the book about Snape teaching the students how to cast a spell without speaking it?

Another theory would be a little more like the original Star Wars trilogy. That being that Dumbledore really is dead, but he can still help and advised Harry in spirit form somehow, or through his portrait in the headmistresses office (nope, Umbridge isn't back in that position, it's someone who was already at Hogwarts in the first book).

its true

dumbledore and harry went to kill one of voldemort's 7 lives. Dumbledore had to drink a potion. He was really weak after that... then at hogwarts, death eaters invaded the school. The DA tried to stop them...Malfoy was supposed to kill Dumbledore but he couldn't bring himself to do so. Then Snape used the avada kedavra curse to kill Dumbledore.

By the way it's called Harry Potter and the half blood prince. The half blood prince is snape.

It's true. Dumbledore dies. *sobs* It was so sad! I couldn't believe it when I first read the book! Which was last year. So sad. And another important thing that happens is that harry hooks up with Ginny.

yes, unfortunately dumbledore does die. It's a brilliant book though. Where do you live? I can't believe it hasn't come out where you are yet.

Yes, he died, as they said, pawned by the Avada Kedavra curse thanks to Snape.

As for my reaction to his death, well, I was more of shocked, actually. As for Sirius, I cried, since he was one of my favorite characters and he did die in a dramatic way...
