I see men do it at work all the time, even after, um, a "sit-down" session. Utterly revolting.

This is actually why I don't shake hands with anyone. I'm not a germophobe [sp], but I simply presume the worst. Even in a business meeting, I'll beg off by smiling and saying something like, "Oh, I'm getting over a cold and might still have germs." They always respect and appreciate that, little knowing that it's THEIR germs I'm avoiding.

I worked as an administrator at a hospital a few years ago and had to take some mandatory health classes. They were real eye-openers -- oy, germs and bacteria are just all over the place. Since I've stopped touching my face unless I've just washed my hands, I haven't had a headcold. :-)

I'm a guy, and I've found that if you just squat down you don't need to wash your hands. Just do it. What? Are you afraid? Are you scared that people will think you're a woman?

It's not just men. I understand that women's restrooms are pretty filthy, which gives an indication of their habits, as well.

I have to tell you that most men wash, that I observe.
