Why are young girls in such a rush to grow up?

I can't tell you how many questions I read on here from young girls wanting to know when they are going to start their period or what's going to happen if they have sex?

My GOD, what happened to enjoying your childhood? What happened to Barbies and board games?

Jesus, what's the average age a girl loses her virginity these days?

It makes me sick...

Amen sister!! I think sadly the average age is between 11-13. SO sad. I know I was like the old maid at 15 1/2. These young girls know nothing about the emotions involved with sex and how messed up it can make them. Not to mention STDs and pregnancy.....

I really agree, I'm 16 and I hate the fact that I have my period and that I have to grow up. I miss playing in the backyard with my older brothers and I just wish I could go back and do it all again because growing up sucks. My older brothers are all married now and live on their own, and one has a 4 year old son and one of them just lost their 2 day old baby about a month ago and when something like that happens it kinda forces you to grow up and I just wish that kids now a days would just enjoy being kids and getting into the movies cheaper. Everyone grows up, just wait and enjoy the stress free life of childhood!!
God Bless!!

I totally agree. And I think that its the media and the parents really. The media exploits Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan as "party girls" and our kids see that and thinks that its all glamour. Its the parent's faults because they don't raise their kids, they let the t.v do it, and the t.v isn't a good babysitter. MOMS, STOP IT! Sorry, but it just makes me so angry. And parents let their little 6-15 year olds wear mini skirts and booty shorts and shorts all up in their @ss. Its ridiculous. And everytime we turn around sex is thrown in our faces. T.V, commercials, the radio, post cards, poster boards, bill boards, the internet, older friends, older siblings, the streets. I think that we are censoring the wrong things and letting the wrong things in our kids ears eyes and hearts. Girls think that sex means the guy loves them when, if they were smart they would know that if the guy loved them so dam much that he wouldnt try to have sex with her. Sex should be for maybe like 17+ I WILL NOT let my daughter run around like some little whore and you can take my word for it.

Well, every girl is curious to know when their period is going to start. Remember when you were younger, how you were so excited to finally start your period? God we were stupid back then!

The sex thing, however, I agree with. It's ridiculous! (But if you think about it, centuries ago, girls would lose their virginities as soon as they were married, which was usually right after they started their menses.)

Not that I'm advocating every thirteen-year-old on here has sex. You should wait until you're absolutely emotionally ready...not just physically. As a rule, it's generally a bad idea to have sex before you know how to drive, at the very least...

What happened to the time when girls didn't even know about sex until they were teens? Young, young children are using sexual terms. Like 10 yr olds. And Girls wanting their period at like, 9yrs old? I didn't even know what a period was! This is getting ridiculous

You are absolutely right. Girls don't relish their childhood and they want to enjoy the adulthood. As far as virginity is concerned, according to one survey, most of the girls loose it in the age of 16, sweet 16, you know.

Honestly, i was like that last year.
its puberty, all the fun things you can do when you're older, you have more friends, more places to go, the opposite sex, high school.
You want to feel responsible.
And now, i wish i didnt have any of those things to deal with.

i make myself sick.

and as for the virgin thing, i dont know. but, im 13 and im a virgin. and i will be for a LONG time.

No kidding! It's soooo sad! I mean, what about waiting until you're married? Now it seems like it's wrong to wait. But I don't care what anyone says. No one ( not my friends, the media, or ANYONE) can change my mind.
