i can't catch mesprit in pokemon diamond, i have the move mean look but he attacks first and he always runs..?

Like... i will choose to use the move mean look and then he will perform his attack before me and he runs away....so how do i catch him.....!

My lv 40 crobat had no problem landing the first move. Its speed was at least 110. I read that your speed has to be at least 100 to be able to do it.
Also, mean look only remains in effect as long as the pokemon is active and in battle. You can't use it and switch to another pokemon.

dude..use a master ball..save master balls for legendary pokemon lik mespirit..dun use it on other pokemon that can be caught at 1 place..save the game b4 catching those pokemon..if u used ur master ball already..i sugggest u deal some damage to mespirit..nxt time meet it the health wil remain the same..if not u can train a jigglypuff to vl 100 and giv it a quick claw then use sing..^_^
