On Memorial Day I watched a PBS special. A man who had lost his son in Iraq stated that Saddam was responsible for 9/11. I was in shock. I guess whatever he needs to be able to sleep at night is OK for him. There are many, many lemmings who still believe that load of crap. It it frightening how people like Hitler and Bush could rouse the masses.-

There is no credible evidence that Saddam had direct operational connections to 9/11. Few if any Republicans are running around saying that.

There is credible evidence that:
- Saddam publicly supported various Islamofacist terrorist organizations (offering money to the families of any Palestinian suicide bombers)
- Various terrorist groups had training camps in Iraq
- Saddam had and used chemical weapons and other WMD against his own people - - he failed to provided the UN inspectors with documentation about the disposal of these weapons
- Some components of WMDs (canisters, mustard gas, etc) have been found by troops serving in Iraq (not stockpiles of weapons ready to be deployed but components used in the WMDs)
- Saddam brutally tortured and killed thousands of his citizens and he had a strong dislike of the US

To the Retired Army Guy (thank for your service), and others, I would respectfully point to this video I found, just by typing in "link saddam 911" into Youtube. It's a snapshot of what was playing on the media at the time, and if Cheney is a "credible" Republican, this is at least one instance. I saw and heard myself, Saddam or Iraq juxtaposed with the events of 911 in that time period numerous times. I'm sure there is more, but you only get one from me. It's the very last part that is telling.

9/11 Saddam link? I don't know about all of that but he had violated multiple U.N. Resolutions. While he wasn't proved to have possessed WMDs on a large scale, he did however have chemical nerve agents such as aflatoxin, sulfer and nitrogen mustard, and ricin to name a few. Iraqi officials admitted to hiding over 100,000 gallons of botulinum toxin, 22,000 gallons of anthrax, 500 gallons of aflatoxin, almost 3 gallons of ricin and VX nerve gas There was also proof that he had paid $25 K to families of Palestinian homicide bombers and harbored Al-Qaeda members.

It didn't take a German attack to get us involved in WWII either, but FDR saw the bigger picture and realized that the Nazis were a serious threat to the U.S. and our freedoms. He also understood that appeasement was no option, and we preemptively attacked Germany to prevent the spread of Nazism. Similary, we preemptively attacked a totalitarian government known to sponsor terrorists, as well as the things mentioned above, in order to prevent another terrorist attack. Look at the big picture.

There was no 9/11 Saddam link, and no credible Republican or other has ever said that. Its something the left keeps throwing up because they have such weak points over the issue.

PS. Do people like you forget the 19 broken resolutions of the United Nations, you know, that organization you think should make all of Americas decisions? Well that organization made a decision, and it was to go to war, period, and end of story. next!

Never saw a link, but was hea threat?
Hell yes.
Iran was a bigger threat and we chose to go into Iraq, bering next door to Iran they thaught it would tame Iran, well they thought wrong.
It has bolstered them into thinking they can take over Iraq and that is what they will do, now we havea much bigger problem on our hands, one that is made worse by all liberals saying get out of Iraq, we leave and Iran will have the 2nd and 3rd largest oil reserves on the planet, all this and a madman running the show.
The jig is about up.
