I am thankful for the way I look, but I don't compare myself to others or anything. I just like keeping my grooming skills sharp, but not obsessively or anything. I know my loved ones are joking with me, but sometimes I feel a little guilty about my looks.

Well, if family and friends are commenting, then maybe you are doing some things in front of them that give the impression that you are conceited. Are you constantly looking at yourself in the mirror, always fixing your hair or make-up, always talking about yourself? There's nothing wrong with thinking you look nice and keeping yourself well groomed, but do your primping away from others or they may get the wrong impression of you. When you are with others, make sure the conversation isn't all about you. I don't know if this is what is going on in your case or not, but my sister used to do these things when she was a teen and she was teased as you are now.

Just was talking about this tonight with my friend. It seems perfectly fine to be proud of and capitalize on other gifts from God, such as musical talent, intelligence, art ability, athletic achievements, so why isn't it OK to also enjoy and use a gift of physical beauty? As long as done in the respect that you are not hurting others, I think you should appreciate and use the gifts given to you.

Don't feel guilty. Family members always find something about each member to kid about. Since you know they are just joking, don't worry!

By the way .... it's people like you who make me look bad :))))) lol!!

Quit obsessing about your looks, and start working on more important things, such as your personality and moral character. Unlike looks, those things last forever!!
