What is so good about about rap?

Now that I have you attention what is so bad about rap? Please the argument that it take no skill is lame, the argument that it pollutes the minds of the young is played out , I mean Terminator killed many people now he is the governer of california (please don't say terminator is any different movies and music are entertainment am I wrong), and finally please just don't say because it doesn't have meaning that reason is also played out

anyone who likes rap should wear a helmet they cant talk really fast its when the record the album they cant talk any faster than you or me so they speed the track up in the sound booth it takes no talent or skill its pretty opening a book and seeing two words that rhyme and putting them in a sentence i could to that right now The Pig Is Wearing A Wig all the beats are is a couple people playing on a computer making all kinds of noises its so simple really the only good rap came out in the 80's&earily 90's when it was about simple every day things not like now where its like i came from the ghetto and got shot 9 times or how i slap my wife around and do drugs or dress in over sized clothes and put tin foil in my teeth and sound like a complete retard or jump around like a maniac hopped up on pcp and they use their color as an excuse to not have a "real"job because nobody would hire them so they "Have to rap for a living".Also they ***** and moan about being called the "N-word" by white people but if you actually listen almost every other word in every single lame *** song its that word it has to start some where so why dont they stop using it so then kids and other races stop using that dirrogatory term but thats just my not so humble opinion.and no C. Neiall oldman...no i havent

Adeet, stop hating on everyone and form an opinion on the topic. Rap is good and it is bad. As long as you can take it at face value, and not try to make it more than it is, it's a good form of dance music and occasional political message from the poor, inner city minorties. If you try to make rap a way of life, it is bad. Rap is not about being a gangster or about beating your wife or having a harem of women. It's just music, people. It's not real life.

there is nothing bad about rap, i mean, you know the it makes people want to do what they are wrapping about, is so outdone and so wrong, like I have heard by so many adults eminem is teaching our children it is okay to abuse theire sposes and kill people and talk about killing theire moms and doing drugs, but no he rapped (saddly, very very sadley) so that he could rid of his anger so he wouldn't do stuff like abuse kim or kill her boyfriend! And the cuss word thing I hear more curse words a day than I ever have had in all the rap songs I 've ever heard combined together! And then you have video's that have alot more bad stuff like sex and drugs in it than rap! And I mean the actors/actresses are what is the most influential to our youth, and they are causeing alot more problems like anerexia, and then them getting into drugs and stuff makes the teens want to do drugs and them getting into jail, and drinking, and having sex and babies, that is our youths problems, not rap!!! And don't deny it, it's true!!!

Dont get me wrong i like rap music as well as other types, but many people don't like because of a number of reasons:
a) they were never exposed to it (I myself have been listening to rap music for most of my life)
b)they dont like the particaular beats or style of the various artists
c)some people cant understand it and think "Whats the point?"
d)other people dont like the profanities in the music (although not every artist has them in their lyrics)
im pretty sure there are more reasons for this though

I think the artists who rap about "gettin some" "smackin that" and **** like that are just doing it for the money. All those one hit wonders y'know, they have no meaning. I love rap, don't get me wrong. But it's just that, i think girls and "living the life" is soo played out. When's the next tupac, notorious, nas, etc gonna come?

On top of that, I hate how most of the melodies/beats/hooks today are taken from older songs.. I mean, can't ppl make their own and be original?

I love rap, and the history behind it. I personally like classic rock, but still appreciate rap.

What can be a little "bad" about rap is the fact that a theme will stick and is over done. Such as praises and beats. "Fo' Shizzle" was interesting the first time, but after hearing everybody around me saying it for a year...yeah..not cool.

The theme of being rich and getting laid with music videos of half-nakid women dancing in a spray of Crystal also gives rap a bad name.

Take me back to the days of Tupac and that is a true example of rap gone right.

all of you people saying rap is bad, are judging this on the rap that has a bad influence or has bad messages. if you listen to meaningful, old school rap, you will realize rap isnt all bad. give tupac a chance, the majority of his songs were about his struggles, his life and the corruption in the world. he is my main influence so that is y the majority of my pieces are about my struggles and my life and the corruption in the world.

AND to those who say rap takes no talent, trust me it does. dont say it takes no talent until you can do it yourself or try it. its not only just rhyming, its gotta have a certain flow, a certain delivery, and it cant just be basic ABC rhyming to be good, its gotta be more complex, people also use analogies so there goes the debate of being stupid to like rap music. also when your recording it takes a talent to have it work with the beat, have it flow, not to trip over words, and have a certain delivery. all the people who say rapping takes no talent, if they try it i guarntee they will soon realize it takes allot more talent then they thought at first

well its not that bad i listen to a lot of rave music which is like that same a rap but with out the lyrics...i dont like the gansta rap **** its annoying all they talk about is getting high or how they grew up in the hood and hoes and all that ****...but the music part or beats to msot rap is really good..

i dont listent to rap for the lyrics. i listen for beats and overall melody if you will of the song. i like to bob my head with sounds. this is why i listen to every music except opera. nothing really to bop to
