Yes, I think so.
I do not trust people easily. Some of my friends that I have known for years, I will NOT share anything personal with them. I've been hurt in the past so I don't let people in. My dog is seriously my best friend, no she can't talk to me, but sometimes that's exactly what I want. I want to be able to just vent and get things off my chest, and I can blab all I want to my dog without having to worry about her changing her opinion about me or sharing it with everyone else. She's just always there for me, I've had friends walk in and out of my life and I really didn't feel an impact from it, but I will truly be lost when my dog is no longer here.
People in general tick me off because they can be so judgmental, whereas animals will take you for who you are, and love you no matter how rich you are or what stupid mistakes you've made.
I'll say a bond between people is probably different than a bond a person has with an animal, but I don't think either of them is of greater value, and you can definitely have a stronger bond with animals than you do people.

Personally- I would say that with animals, bonding is not even on the same level that humans bond. Not to say that the level is lower, but simply that it is any entirely different experience. With animals, there is no spoken word. Animals can certainly bond with a human in more than a simple relationship of pet to human or something of the sort. For example, my grandparents once received a horse that had been severely abused prior to being rescued and taken to their ranch. She trusted no one whatsoever and would do any and everything to escape the human touch. For six weeks I worked with her and within that time, I could touch, groom, and even begin to saddle her once again. However, I know it was a "bond" of sorts because she allowed no one else to be near her in the manner I was.
Thus, I would say that from personal experiences, animals bond just as well as people- differently, but can to the same extent. There have been so many stories of heroism with animals and I believe that those cases are because a human and an animal shared a special bond- just as a human would save another from drowning in a pool, animals have done the same thing. Perhaps their level of understanding is not exactly as rationally processed as our thought, but it is enough to make humans appreciate all that animals do for us!
=) So, in short, yes, yes they can.

It depends on what you consider bonding.
In many ways, people can bond more with animals. Animals don't ask for that much nor do they talk back, argue, or criticize. Pets offer affection.
On the other hand, animals cannot have the same type of strong, bonded relationship that we can with each other, partly because they are of another species. We can share so much with each other.
Hope this helps answer your question?

I feel as if I can bond with animals, but require other people in my life as well.
But there are some people who have a difficult time bonding with animals. Extremely self centered people cannot bond with a pet, which requires time and attention.
There are others who cannot bond with people.
Animals give them an outlet and fill the void from their need for warmth.

In some ways. But when you need advice on something or someone to talk to, you can't do that with any animal. I feel like there's similar connections and bonds, but they're still completely different.

Animals are friends for life. They love you even when you are unlovable and never judge you by appearences.People I can bond with but it takes a special person to make that connection. So animals are much easier.

You bet. There is a gene that we humans have that dogs also have, called a bonding gene. The old school called this getting attached. I have a 13yr old flat-coated retriever now,
and before her, I had a mix that lived for 21 yrs. When he died
it tore me up, and with my present dog it will probably be the same

Sometimes I can bond better with animals then I can with people.. It's sort of been a natural ability of mine since I was a kid.. Most people that know me think I have some sort of super natural connection with nature....

Yes... actually animals are easier to bond with for me. The worst they can do is bite you or pee on you. People can be cruel and use their mouths to say things that hurt more than bitting.
