I don't know how real it is. But I will tell you this...I live in the Jackson, Mississippi area and he was at the mall wondering around. Now you don't see that in the movie but he was picked up and brought to the channel 16 station down here and was on the mid day show full character. That part was on the movie. Now if it was real, I don't know. But when he was at the mall people were like who the hell is this! LOL.

It depends on what your definition of "real" is. The main charactors in Sasha Baron Cohen's "Borat" (he is the main charactor "Borat" and his real life girlfriend, Isla Fisher, the redhead that hooks up with Vince Vaughn in "Wedding Crasher" is getting sick of it and about ready to dump him over it) were "real" paid actors; however, there were many unwittingly people that did not choose to participate in the movie or participated under the false pretenses of him being an "Ambassador" from some obscure country in Russia, or flat out just refused, which explains why he and the film company have been sued nearly 100 times since the movie aired.

Cohen, Pam Anderson, his assistant and the black prostitute were acting.

He had 3 characters on Ali G, 2 of which he's made movies. I think that "Talladega Nights" was the first new character he's come up with since the show. He could prob. get away with playing Bruno in a similar movie, I also think that he could get away with Ali G. How he was able to pull this off throughout the country was amazing considering how many people have HBO.

Most of Borat is real which is incredibly disturbing. Lol although i find it funny that in the scene where he chases Pamela Anderson, they had called Pam and told her what they were planning, but her body guards had no idea. They thought some freak was just chasing her. Hilarious.

one way its not real at all because Borat is a fictional character
in another way it is real because none of the people who were used in ht e film did not know what is going on and did not have any script they were just randomly chosen
