Mine is that everything has to even on both sides. If I rub one finger on my right hand, have to rub the other exact finger with the exact same pressure, or I have to even it up again.

I do the even thing like you, but I also count lots of sentences out on my fingers....and then I vary it up starting with a new finger each time and adding a small word so I can use all the fingers.....I know, IT'S MADNESS!

What a great question Karole R. I literally laughed out loud reading these.

I do the exact same thing! If i am walking down the sidewalk and my left foot steps on the crack in between the concrete slabs, then I have to make my left foot touch a crack on the next step. I am totally not obsessive compulsive - but an when it comes to that.

When I was 5-10 years old, I played violin and had to do these finger exercises. Since then, I've substituted the original finger exercises with other things. Currently, I am constantly spelling something with my fingers in sign language. I do it so frequently that my thumbnails are shiny like glass. It makes me look retarded.

I don't know if this qualifies as a habit, but I completely freak out when someone or something touches my neck. It almost feels like a painful feeling. Even when I watch t.v. and somebody gets hurt in the neck, I can almost feel it on myself.

I have the *same* quirky habit (the "even" thing). I seriously thought I was the only one. I'm glad I saw this question, as now I don't feel quite so weird.

It's the same with the amount of steps I take with each foot, too.

I keep lists of almost everything. They are all over our apartment and my office looks like I am getting ready for a paper drive or a shredder has gone wild. It must be a genetic thing because my youngest son does the same thing. He's just a lot neater.

I have the same quirky habit as you! So weird, it gets so annoying sometimes. I also have to do things in numbers sometimes like...touch something 3 times instead of once. Kinda OCD-ish.

When I drink something it has to be an even number of sips.
I count the cars on a train.
I count steps.
I organize everything alphabetically.
I time myself when I do laundry.
I only chew sugarfree gum.
I hate when people touch my face...
My list could go on I have OCD.

I don't like my food touching on my plate, and yes I know it all goes to the same place, it matters to me!!!

I am a perfectionist, it drives me buts...

And I have a thing about checking the door 10 times before I go to bed, making sure the oven is off, etc... It's annoying...

Exactly! I am that way too. Also, everything has to be even numbered and in order. Odd numbers give me nightmares. Plus I count anything before I eat it (e.g. m&m's, skittles, etc.) to make sure I eat an even number. And I sort them by color...and I have a certain way of washing my hands...
