I'm not certain of your situation, but this happened to me when I was 17 and had not quite graduated high school. I got pregnant and my mother said that I MUST get married immediately. It was stupid if you asked me and I didn't want to and wasn't ready even. I was young and dumb and felt pressured into it. My parent's signed something saying I could marry and I was married in high school. I somehow think this was supposed to save my mother of the embarrassment of my getting pregnant at a younger age. Her mother-in-law was very strict and religeous and she had some friends from work that I would certainly embarrass her if they knew. Surely these people could figure it all out.
I must say that my marriage at 17 was extremely tough on me - as well as the young prenancy. I've been married for 14 years now to the same man and have since had two additional children. It is a miracle that we've made it this far and I would not recommend it for anyone. I was miserable for quite some time. I didn't get to finish college, I did get some college but taking care of my babies has been priority.
Perhaps someone was in this sort of situation. I wish parent's could understand that children mess up and sometimes BIG. We need their love and support even in these tougher situations. Marriage shouldn't have been the answer for me at that time.

i think sometimes they just don't want the responsibility of taking care of the child anymore, maybe the child brings problems into the home, maybe the child id threatening to run away there maybe several different reasons behind it but i would never force my children off on someone else

Possibly for religous or cultural reasons. Or if they know she is pregnant or sexually active. Or if they are bargaining her for something.
No matter the reason, it is wrong!
