If someone has done something that begs an apology and they offer one, I'll forgive them -- regardless of how long I've been acquainted with them.

For me, it's easier to forgive a good friend. They have points saved up in my mind and I know them. On the other hand, strangers can be forgotten. If I barely knew someone and they caused a problem, I'd just brush it off and not associate with them.

Thats a great question. I'd probably say someone I barely knew because you would still feel like being polite where as the someone you know should be able to judge how to act around you.

It is easier for me to forgive someone I don't know.Because i don't know their weaknesses and it is easier to do the right thing to a stranger.People i know are sometimes too close and I'm around them more.

Since I have no reason to believe that a stranger or acquaintance cares about my feelings or that I will ever need to interact with them again, a stranger. It’s also possible that the person (not knowing you that well) did not realize or intend to hurt you. If a friend wrongs me in some why it is quite a bit more difficult.

Someone you barely know, because they haven't been with you as long and do not have that bond with you. You expect more from your friends when they have been around for a while. :)

Someone you barely know, because you can assume more innocence on their part... Plus they don't seem as guilty because they didn't know you as well and thus were not expected to treat you quite as well as someone who knew you better.
