I want to start my birthcontrol but I think I am not suppose to start it until after my menstrual ends, but I am going on vacation and I don't want it to come on. i heard of something called "menstrual suppression". Does anyone know how that goes?

Just start taking your birth control now. The only reason to wait for your period is so that your next one will be a normal amount of time after your last one. If your period would come at an inconvenient time while you are on the pill, just skip your period by starting a new packet of active pills instead of taking the hormone-free sugar pills

You are right, don't start it until the day after your period starts, or else if you don't, your period will become out of whack. Also if it is your first time going on it in awhile, wait till after. To stop your period from coming is not a good idea and I know it sucks, but let it, it could mess you up later on if you supress it. It may not even work right away because most of those supressors take awhile to even work.

uncertain in case you're able to be messing around too a lot with your hormonal stability that's what you're doing by utilising changing dosing practise. I optimistic wish you do no longer plan on having intercourse for awhile given which you're no longer fairly going to be top secure this month.

I agree with seraphim. Just start taking your pills now. They will supress your period.

Make sure you use a back-up method for 7 days if you are going to have sex. It is also advised to have a pregnancy test in 2 weeks if you are sexually active.

It's best to start taking the pill when your period starts. You don't have to wait until it finishes.
