It was probably a case of mistaken identity. If it's a baby, it's likely that he is still learning about his enviornment, and will make a few mistakes, (like finger biting). Beardies really aren't mean. He did probably think you had a grape, and oops!

Bearded dragons make great first reptiles. I think your boyfriend is right. The bearded probably got confused and thought your finger was a grape.

I would agree that your boyfriend was probably right, he had mistaken your finger for food. Beardies, as a rule, are mellow critters who really thrive on human attention. I've only ever been bitten by a Beardie one time (other than brand new hatchlings that nip as I remove them from the incubator), and it was my own fault....I was administering meds to an ill Beardie, and my finger got in the way, lol. I would have bit me if I were in his shoes as well. : )
Be careful on feeding him too many grapes....they can cause diarreah.

I used to raise them.
Your boyfriend's bearded dragon might have thought your finger was a pinkie. (newborn mice) They love them as a treat. Though, I couldn't give it to my Sydney, my husband had to do it.
They are wonderful pets. If you get one that is a baby, make sure you handle it alot. We used to let ours roam the house during the day, and at night, in a large tank, until we had our dogs come inside.
You will be very happy with your new bearded dragon. Just make sure you give it lots of love and healthy food!

they are great. although they are spiky they are gentle and quiet. don't be afraid if one bites and its not in a pet store it probably is used to its owner. make sure when you pick one out that u hold it first to make sure that its OK. babies are good to start off with its just that you cant tell what sex it is. depending on where you live you can buy a cage as long as he cant get out and just put it outside they love basking. beardeds like dandelions and clovers so u don't have to buy much food in the summer.

bearded dragons are very mellow creatures. i had 2 as a kid adn i have one of my own now. she is a sweetheart and yes, bearded dragons do tend to mistake things as babies. he probbaly did think your finger was a grape, but bearded dgragon bites dont hurt, so you shouldnt be too scared of it. the only time taht mine ever gets mad at me is when im getting her in and aout of her harness. she loves to be in it and go fro walks, but the actual gettuing her in and out of it, she isnt too fond of. they are really great pets because they are easy to care for adn they give you room to make mistakes. overall, they would be a great pet
