In my school system we are going to a dress code for the teachers this year. Now, you may think, why do we need a dress code for adults who should know better. Well, I guess they don't know better. One of the first year teachers wore sweat pants with the word 'luscious' on her butt. It was because of teachers like this that we are going to the dress code. Teaching is a profession, which mean that we need to dress and act professionally. It is no wonder that parents have lost confidence in us. And,no, the way we dress doesn't determine how well we teach but we should try to be professional in all that we do.

Try paying more attention to your studies than the teachers tongue stud. Then maybe you could spell properly. Allowed, not aloud and wear, not ware.

No, because not only is it not professional but the students will be distracted by it. The teacher will get ten questions a day about it.
Remember, you are the adult in the room. It's time to grow up. You can still be yourself on the weekends and after school, but you need to have the right image when you are infront of people. It's a hard thing to say to young adults, they feel like they are losing a part of thier identity by taking out their body peircings, but there's a reason why you went with that instead of tattoo.

Do you think the quality of her teaching will improve if she doesn't have the tongue stud? Would you perfer it if she taught a higher grade? I don't think her value as a teacher is affected by the way she dresses or her choice of accessories. If there is a concern about her teaching or attitude with the students then I could see a problem -- but not solely because of a tongue ring.

Should people who can't spell be allowed to post questions about teachers?
Kindergarten teachers are people. That's all. Some people wear tongue studs, some don't. It's an individual choice.

Your job is to teach, not to make any fashion statements. Teachers should not show cleavage, have long claws, dress like the kids, etc. Class room management is a lot easier when you dress as a professional ... so take out the studs and wear them on your own time (which is fine.)

As far as jewelry, I think it's getting ridiculous that in this day and age people still have aversions to tattoos and body jewelry. There's nothing wrong with it and it doesn't affect a persons ability to complete the jobs they have. Kindergarten teachers should know how to spell, however, that much is fact.
kinder garden - kindergarten
aloud - allowed
ware - wear

Sure, as long as they don't interfere with teaching. Hopefully they don't also cause the teacher to either misspell, or use a synonym in place of the correct word in 3 out of 9 words,(kindergarten is one word), in a sentence. I'd also like to teach the children who are now generally growing up with computers, how to use basic features like spell check.

Personally I believe it's fine. Why is a tongue stud different from any other item of fashion? It would be a little silly to say it would cause children to fall into negative behaviour.

as a student i a have to follow the dress code. I have been punished countless amounts of times for being out of dress code when i realy wasnt and would prove this to the vice principals who would just ignore me and send me to detention. in my mind if all the students have to suffer a dress code then at least the teachers should abide by it too
