What steps would you take to ensure that the purpose of your message, (Whether informative, positive, negative, or persuasive) is conveyed to your readers?

argue with yourself, all the points that you think could be brought up that are irrelevant. try not to word you question so that people will misinterpret you, and try not to just word your letter for plain attractiveness, unless you just want tons of answers that don't get your point, but were pulled in like an ad pulls all different ppl.
there's alot more to consider, but it depends on what you want.

there is no way to narrow it down...you can get all kinds of reactions, especially since there are so many weak minded people out there who get offended so easily. Just write what you feel. Those who get it will get it, those who doent get it...most likely the weak minded.

We don't like reading what we don't agree with, right - or perhaps you don't agree? I'd have thought you'd have to preface your remarks with something like that - to show some empathy with the reader, to soften them up.
