Why must every media, news report, and anything having to do with politics be filled with your own personal opinion, and bias? Furthermore, what happened to independent reporting and god forbid truth? Why was Fox news not allowed in the Democratic convention? Why is the media afraid of independent reporting of the facts and not your own conclusions? I further realize that the media and news reporting is ultimately a business in today's society, however, Why is the media afraid of independent Bloggers who actually go out gather facts and provide the general public with this information? I read in a report recently that the media wanted to stop indepent bloggers because it takes money away from their station, does anyone find this unusual?

Not at all but I find it to be the typical word game. They don't lie. Like politicians, they use open ended words to answer questions so don't expect a clear cut answer.

They want to stop bloggers because it is our only way to speak out and reach far beyond our abilities. We aren't rich, we don't have the clout to get the media to inteview us, and we certainly don't have the social environment priveleged to the wealthy.

It is better to keep us quiet. Seems to me they are trying to stop the USA citizens from practicing their right to "FREEDOM OF SPEECH" now isn't that ironic coming from the media?

CNN is known to be democratic and FOX known to be Republican. I thought there were laws preventing people in such businesses from promoting one political party from another. Not sure... i just know at work we have a policy that prevents us from promoting poltical parties via communications like email .

Funny how your status in life warrants the rules you must follow.

Guess that is the American way - just my thought which I believe i have the right to, but I could be worng.

I don't buy your premise. There are plenty of factual reports out there. There also are plenty of commentators out there on all sides of an issue that shouldn't be confused with reporters. Analysis helps us understand news stories, even if it comes with a price in terms of a point of view.

I don't know about the claim that Fox wasn't allowed in the Democratic convention. And I don't know about being afraid of bloggers. The major problem with bloggers is a lack of accountability. If he or she makes an incorrect charge, it's forgotten about. If a major media reporter does that, a libel charge usually follows.

I don't think bloggers take money away from stations. The NCAA tried to stop a newspaper reporter from blogging in an attempt to control information flow, which has all sorts of First Amendment implications, but that's a different issue.
