I am needing a stress releiver in a big way. Problem is that all my friends are married or have boyfriends. I just want to get away someplace fun , but going someplace by yourself can look a bit pathetic to the people around at all the fun spots I can think of as a single person. Anybody have any ideas...please help!!!!!

Where do you want to go? If you had someone to go with, where would you go? What would you do when you get there?

Hold your head up high and go for it! There's nothing more empowering...

It might be a little scary, maybe somewhat intimidating, but you'll feel so good about yourself and you'll feel your Independence... there's nothing better then having Independence and using it!!!

I think if I traveled by myself for vacation, I would plan a trip with at least 1-2 stops in places where I could visit friends. That way, I wouldn't spend the entire trip by myself....but instead have some time with other people and some time on my own (to meet new people!). For example, I have old friends in Germany and Austria (Americans who have moved abroad). If I took a vacation there, I would try to look them up before I left to find out if they'd like to meet and spend some time.

By the way, another idea might be a spa. For example, if you went to a spa in Arizona or California for a week, you'd be surrounded by other people and still have a nice vacation!

Lastly, I think there are singles resorts in the Caribbean but if you consider that, look up any issues of safety.

Bon voyage!

Suzie, you shouldn't get away anywhere by yourself. It's just too dangerous. A few years back, a friend of mine booked a cruise where there were mostly single people ( like over 50% were single , both guys and girl in their 20's and 30's ). She had a great time and met some friends she still keeps contact with today. You might look into something like that.

Where are you starting from? Do you want to spend $ to fly or $ to drive? Are you athletic or a shopper or a museum-goer?
