My favorite was always the Moody Blues. I must have listened to their "classic seven" albums thousands of times. At some point, I started liking The Cure, The Church, and some other bands better.

I believe that the most influential and talented classic rock bands would have to be Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Pink Floyd, Queen, Iron Maiden, CCR, and Jethro Tull (one of my personal favorites).
As for individual artists, I have to go with Alice Cooper, Tom Petty, and Jimi Hendrix.
