I don't know why AIM is big and practically all B&W and no website has a background image and is all white

Anyone know why...or knows the solution

Shot in the dark. Start > Control Panel > Accessibility Options > Display. Ensure that the "Use High Contrast" is not selected/checked.

Go to Vista's display property and change the colour theme if you don't want the black frame, then for AIM there is that B button in the chat window you need to unselect
