that i have 100% brightness, the only way i can see my screen is i have to shine a ligt to the screen to see, and the light is ok, but i'd rather see NORMAL i looked at the buttons on the side of my computer, and i change d the brightness to 100% and it still looks dark!!! please help!!!!!!!!

Get a new moniter. They are cheap now, or get one from a buisness office, they always have some to give away.

okay,, first of all,, does your monitor is also dark when you are on Dos mode? before you enter the OS.. if yes,, then there's a hardware problem.. this is a very common problem in CRT Monitors especially if it's an old one, you can actually if you are interested fix this by your own.. but you will have to open tha monitor, and then look for the screen output colors cables, just need to re-check they are connected correctly,,, also try to hit the monitor (yes hit the monitor) with your hand not very hard.. you will notice the colors gettin back if not then just open it, and fix it.. btw ,, its high risk for electrical shock,, if you don't know what you doin.

Hi. LCD, right? Sounds like the back light is not working. You can try re-seating the cable but usually a dark screen is not good news.

P.S. Maybe you forgot to adjust your contrast setting, it is usually a half moon like icon.

wauw is it a laptop>? if it is ur screwed might want to check it and if its a pc lol ur screwed might want to check it try restarting it
