Many liberals believe everything George W Bush says is a lie. They also gush over how wonderful Ted Kennedy is.

So how can they reconcile Bush saying, "Senator Kennedy is one of the best legislative senators there is."

Boy some liberals seem touchy today. Note, I said many liberals, not all. It must be tough living everyday with all that anger.

I am a liberal, but I believe that Bush is a genuinely good man with above average abilities and intelligence in comparison with the general public. Unfortunately, those gifts are still inadequate in the face of one of the most challenging roles a man can take on: in the company of Presidents, he is a dim bulb.

I also believe that Bush is a truthful man, but one prone to stating his assumptions and biases as though they were facts because he is not perceptive enough to know the difference.

He's right about Kennedy, though. Ted has been one of the most effective legislators of his time, much to the chagrin of those who would prefer to see the programs that he supports fail and others stand up to his opposition. I've found myself in that position a time or two. One proof of just how smart Kennedy is that he has refrained from running for President. In the long run, he's had much more influence over his lifetime than any individual President has.

But Kennedy's time is coming to an end. I wonder who will arise to join the giants of the Senate in his wake.

Never in all my liberal life have I ever gushed over Ted Kennedy. I imagine Bush said this so maybe he could find a liberal friend or two in this mess. How do you feel about your President saying this?

No it isn't a paradox, it's a tired generalization. Odd, Brian on Family Guy is a cultured liberal. And I don't gush over Kennedy, thank you very much. The man walked away from a murder.

Here is the paradox for this liberal. I don't believe EVERY thing the president says is a complete lie. I also believe Kennedy should have retired ages ago. He has long since out grown his usefulness.
So by president Bush saying what he did it only emphasizes what I have been saying Kennedy's has outgrown his usefulness.
Wow maybe everything he says is a lie!

So by putting words into the mouths of liberals you can pretend you have found an inconsistency.
Who said EVERYTHING Bush said was a lie?
Do you have anything serious to contribute?
If this is the best you can do - make up BS reasons why people who disagree with you must be wrong - shouldn't you either look for real reasons or question your own alignment?

Don't think I've seen anyone gush over Ted Kennedy, ever. Bobby maybe, but he's dead, so what's a lib to do.

I have never gushed over Ted Kennedy...end of story. That is not anger...it is the truth...are you okay with that?

I don't know, but I've never heard anyone I know of praise Ted Kennedy! And Bush sure proves once again what a disgusting liar he is!

Most of the Democratic Caucus believe that no Democrat can do wrong, and that everyone else is pure evil. Remember when they took control over Congress and they said that nothing will stop them? Well its been 6 months and we have seen less from the Democrats than the Republicans. They need a reality check.

Simple - it was a Bushism. He meant to say "Senator Kennedy beat me a chess once, but my cowboy boots are so much cooler than his dumb loafers."
