I don't see how there is a market for this stuff. It's filmed with a handicam, about $12 worth of props, and a few pothead buddies that will act for a bottle of fortified wine. Why does Lion's Gate continue to distribute this?

...granted, the guy has lately been jumping on the cinematic band wagon, and riding the coattails, by whipping out rediculously contrived movies based on historical serial killers....especially in the advent of director Brian de Palma's theatrical release of "The Black Dalia"; call this his 'flavor of the month' choice of filmmaking, I suppose.....

But least us not forget, this is the guy who produced one of the greatest hybrid-style horror films from the '80's slasher-film era, namely "The Boogey Man" (1980).

...despite having produced several substandard follow-ups to "The Boogey Man", I would eagarly welcome his involvement and exploration in a greater-budgeted extension of his "Boogey Man" saga.
