Things are (I think) going very well in my life, I have a great home, a great roommate, wonderful friends, a great relationship with my family & I don't hate my job.
Yet I feel a sadness or anger within myself... I don't know why tho, I find it hard to figure out what is truly going on within myself because I pretend everything is okay... after a while a part of me starts to believe it - which blocks me from talking to my inner self.
I know some of you will just say "get over it" - but I'm not truly happy... I don't want to live life just being "okay".
Can someone suggest a way to help myself?

Effective steps to take, can be:
Avoid dwelling on unpleasant things in the past.
Go through your foto albums and relive your happy moments
Avoid working too long hours. Take a break every week-end
Indulge in one or two outdoor hobbies - stretch, move, and laugh with friends, relatives!Learn a couple of new skills.
Be humble and willing to absorb new knowledge
Do not envy and start comparing your lot with the very wealthy, popular or powerful. They have more stresses and probs than us
Open up and don't keep too many pains or secrets to yourself
Do a little bit of volunteer work if u have a busy job
Delegate some house-hold chores
Save a little money and go for regular holidays
Make a comprehensive list of all your skills, talents, virtues, successes, etc
Associate with ppl who are positive, jovial and don't take life too seriously.
* Doubt if all or any of the above won't work if u really really try...cause i was in similar situations

Talk with your doctor or a counselor. If you are finding it necessary to pretend everything is ok, then it is not. Not every feeling of saddness is a sign of depression, just as not every case of depression requires medication. Spend more time with your friends, meet new people, join organizations to be with people who share your same interests, and find time to be by yourself in a peaceful, quiet place (or as Winnie the Pooh says, a "thoughtful spot") like a library. You may simply be at a cross-road in your life and aren't sure where to go from there.

It's because everyone knows at a subconcious level that the world is a savage, evil place. The minute you are outside the relatively tiny group of people who care about you, or outside the alarmingly few places in our society that is safe, you will be eyed by the pack of wolves who prowl without conscience and without remorse for victims. Every person in that car is within an inch of wanting to run you off the road. Every goon waddling down the street would rob you or worse if the light was dim enough, or the street was empty enough.
Every company and store wants to sell you something you don't need.
Even the birds singing on the wires would peck out your eyes if you let them.

Only you can answer that question for yourself, but think of this: Are you unhappy, just okay, or are you looking for meaning in your life? Finding meaning in your life is not the same as "being happy" yet it is a sense of being fulfilled. And I believe that that can only come from helping others and trying to make others lives more pleasant. Think about it.

I actually feel the same way most of the time. If I take a look at my life I should be happy. If this has been going on a while you should maybe see your doctor maybe he can prescribe you something for depression. It sometimes is the answer.
