Overcoats and fedoras are so cliched. Couldn't you think up something else?

The only possible explanations are
1. You dreamed it.
2. You were awake, but hallucinating.
3. You saw something that appeared to be a man walking through a wall, but was in fact not
4. The guy actually walked through a wall.
Obviously number 4 can be eliminated, since having bricks occupy the same space as your brain would be instantly fatal. Additionally, it's prohibited by the laws of physics. Sensory error is not prohibited by the laws of physics, therefore sensory error is to blame.
So, you're left with 1, 2, and 3. I don't know which is the correct choice.

I had the same experience 2 yrs. ago. Fully awake in the morning. The guy dressed normally but passed through the car following me behind (saw him on my rear mirror) and walked straight through solid wall. He alerted my attention because it is not normal for pedestrians to be there.
Long time ago I saw another pass through a solid wall (when I was a kid around 10 yrs. old., my cousin about the same age was there too and it scared the **** out of us).
Today, I am 61 yrs. old. I can tell you we are not the only ones on this planet. I believe existence is more complicated than that. Not everything is visible (like electricity) and can kill you if you are not careful.

If anyone saw the Nova episode about String Theory (The Elegant Universe), it is possible to go thru the wall but he would have to push on it for millions of years.
From Nova's website...
"BRIAN GREENE: And even in our own universe, quantum mechanics says there's a chance that things we'd ordinarily think of as impossible can actually happen. For example there's a chance that particles can pass right through walls or barriers that seem impenetrable to you or me. There's even a chance that I could pass through something solid, like a wall. Now, quantum calculations do show that the probability for this to happen in the everyday world is so small that I'd need to continue walking into the wall for nearly an eternity before having a reasonable chance of succeeding. But here, these kinds of things happen all the time."

This is actually possible although the chances are very slim. If all the atoms are lined up correctly at the correct moment you could actually pass through a brick wall, although the chances of this are so slim you could start walking into walls every second for the rest of your life and you probably wouldn't do it

I think it's possible by the laws of quantum physics. I think it's *more likely* that you're making up a story, or that you imagined it. But it is possible. I heard that there are monks in India who meditate for decades and then they start just finding themselves walking through walls without really trying. Maybe you can kind of like 'get on the same wavelength' as the matter of the wall and then walk through it. I don't think anything is completely impossible. Turning lead into gold is possible, in principle... If we can design a machine which can disassemble lead atoms and rearrange them into gold atoms.. I think it's important to realise that nothing is 100% impossible. Physical laws aren't as rigid as we assume them to be. They are only models of reality. Nonetheless, I think it's more likely in this case that the man walking through a wall didn't really happen. But it's not completely impossible. In Hindu philosophy, there is the concept of Maya - everything in the world is ultimately an illusion.

the matrix???
no i actually saw some thing on one of those science channels or something like that that had said the molecules in you and the wall could line up perfectly allowing yourself to go through it
but evn if u push against the wall your entire life the chance were encredibly small but i cant remember the number that was used
basicly its not going to happen cuz the chance is SO low
the human mind cant evn comprehend how small of a chance it is

Well, there are those who would think that a "cardplayingMOM" and her WIFE were "weirdos", but it's fine with me.
However I don't have an explanation for what you saw unless it was Dr Who, and his Tardis was disguised as a brick wall.
