I have read that acupuncture can help some with infertility. It is also recommended for depression and neck and shoulder pain.
I have some different problems of long standing, chronic migraine, fibromyalgia , pain from two car accidents in my head, neck and back and bowel problems. I started acupuncture last August and I am able to do more work, have fewer days of just lying down and less pain over all. The person I go to is American but did study in China. You are lucky to have a person with that background.
If you don't have insurance, try to negotiate a lower price. I think the initial visit was $90 for me and then $60, still expensive, but it has slowly helped me. It has been very painful sometimes, but after the pain subsides I often find improvement.
Do you know anyone who has gone to this practitioner? I went to the person I did because my gynecologist recommended him.
Good luck.

I have used acupuncture many times in my life with excellent results. It even saved my life once when I was hemorraghing after a miscarriage and could not stop bleeding. If the price is too high, can you barter something? 2) Is there an acupuncture school or school of Chinese Medicine near you? Almost every school I am aware of has an inexpensive clinic within it staffed by students, but supervised by senior practitioners/teachers where you can get very, very cheap treatment. This is true of New England School of Acupuncture in Watertown, MA, the school my friend Kari attends in Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN and the School of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Shattuck Street in Berkeley, CA. Call up the nearest school to yourself and see what you can find out. I know that as an herbalist, CMT and student homeopath, I would appreciate the trade of someone to cook for me or to help me with cleaning, errands, childcare. Make it known what your gifts are and really put them out there! Someone, I am sure, will be happy to trade w/ you or to reduce their price on a sliding scale in exchange for work.

As three of the previous four answers stated, Acupuncture works, and works well. The fourth person said it was a placebo, and it is probably 5 to 10% belief in it that helps it to work and the rest is its actual working on your body.
I have had it many times for several illnesses and pains, and found that it was more effective than conventional Western Medicine, and its affects were longer lasting.
I have also seen it being used on other clients, including natural child birth for pain control, in a caesarian operation for pain control, both without "Gas" or "Medicine".
Also, you said the doctor had 23 years experience, therefore I assume he is excellent. It is always best to find a very good acupuncturist as the treatment is therefore much better.

it does work for alot of diseases and problems.but not always, so there are certai views of people about it.infertility and depression accupuncture is good,it helps in hormonal balance,so i'll say you are in the right track instead of taking all that medications.
my sister had severe migraine problems for years and we were worried cos she gets bad attacks so frequently, we started taking accupuncture from a professional and even with the second visit, she found a change.she lives a normal life now without the severe attacks.
i advice you to go to someone who knows accupuncture well, had good experience, then the money is worth it.

Used it for hypertension and it worked great, definitely worth the price. A good side effect is that it sure feels good. During treatments its been the most relaxed I've been in years.
