You may have something waiting to clear your account, you may have just made a deposit (like a check) that's not fully avalible

Uncollected funds. The available balance is what has cleared and may be withdrawn; the total balance, or ledger balance is the sum of available and uncollected funds.

Usually my bank shows one balance and my checkbook shows a different balance. This is due to brain damage and dyslexia.

All banks are different.

Call the bank or take your statement and check register down to the bank and ask for clarification. Learn how to balance your checkbook and you will also understand more about how the two numbers relate.

It probably means you had checks coming through today that total $200. They are processing today and will be withdrawn from your account tomorrow.

if looking at it through the atm it is what the atm will allow you to take out and mine is way more than 200 dollars less than what I have in there

Because you have transactions that have not posted to the account..i.e. checks,automatic withdrawals, ATM visits, use of a debit card.

That usually means that a check you deposited hasn't cleared yet...

Maybe because you wrote a check and it has not cleared yet.
