What kind of vehicle? Direct or indirect route?

It's roughly 1226 miles from one city to the other. If gas is about $3/gallon and your car gets 25mpg on the highway, you can factor in about $150 in gas.

Well, that depends on how many miles per gallon your vehicle gets. It's 1223 miles. Say you get 12 mpg, it would take 102 gallon. If you get 20 mpg, it would be 61 gallons--so say 4, 5, 6 fills unless you have a Toyota, Honda or some other non gass guzzling vehicle, then it would be about 3. Have fun. Hopefully, you have good tires and all the rest.
