a roaring noise is a good sign of a bad wheel bearing and an increase and decrease in noise when turning at speeds above 30mph can be heard..this can also cause ur ABS light to come on because the sensor also works off of the wheel bearing. this is an important fix due to the fact the bearing is bad and it can seize leaving you on the side of the road and will also cause tire wear due to play in the bearing..this repair can cost $200 to $400

if it is making noise than it is very crucial to fix it. the bearing usually cost around $50-$100 dollars. the labor isiffy at best depending on the area and the shop. the wheel could lock up and not move or fall apart. it could even mess up the axle costing you more money. hope you call a service center to get a price quote and get it fixed soon.

what are the chances that you just need brake pads , is it a grinding noise! when was the last time you had your brake pads replaced, are there brake pads on the front and rear tires of your car, or disc brakes in front and drums in back, like my grand am?
